AR/AM Accelerated Reading / Accelerated Math
Our Savior families have access to a software program called Renaissance Place at school. This program has a special feature called Renaissance Home Connect, which each student and parents can access outside of school from any computer with an Internet connection. Renaissance Home Connect is fun and easy to use. It allows the teacher, parents and students to share information about a student’s progress in Accelerated Reader and Accelerated Math.
You can log in to Home Connect
from any computer with an Internet connection and compatible browser. Once logged in you can set up your account to receive emails alerting you of your student's quiz or test results.
Students are given a username and password at the beginning of each school year. These will be sent home in a letter to the parents after school begins or provided at home visits.
Follett Library System
Parents and students have access to all the books and checkout information in our library system using the URL www.osls.follettdestiny.com.
Through this you are able to search the library database for what books are available, AR information, what books your child has checked out and any fines owed.
The username and login for these are the same as the student’s AR/AM username which is given to the students at the beginning of the year and in a letter to parents.
Our computerized lunch system allows parents to make lump sum deposits to family accounts. The cost of full meals, milk or a la carte are then taken from the family account as purchased each day.
This year we will be adding the ability for families to check account status online to determine balance and view purchasing information for each child.
Letters with login information and pins will be sent home in a letter to the parents after school begins or provided at home visits.
Our grading system will continue to be the online Gradelink system.
This system allows families to check current grades, receive alerts and communicate with teachers. Gradelink works on your smart devices.
Reports are printed only at each quarter’s end, so it is important that parents log in to Gradelink to view grades and set up alerts. Alerts can be set up for individual classes, all classes, or specific grade benchmarks high or low.
Please visit the Gradelink website
for more information. Letters with login information will be sent home at the beginning of the year or at home visits.
Every child, including preschoolers, spends some time each week in the computer lab instructed by our computer teacher.
In addition, teachers regularly use technology in the classroom and students regularly use the internet to further their knowledge.
We have Smartboards™ in place of chalkboards in every classroom including preschool.
Our computer system has appropriate filters that do not allow students to access inappropriate sites.
Walk down our hallways and see the quantity and quality of work generated through our computer education program.
We believe technology should be used as a learning tool and work very hard to allow students to practice that.
All middle school students are issued a tablet for 1:1 use daily in school and at home.
Feel free to ask students, parents, or faculty about how they are being used.
